Driver arrested for OWI following crash on west side

Multiple people called for help after seeing a driver going the wrong way in traffic on the west side Monday afternoon.

The driver then ran several red lights before causing a three-vehicle crash at Mineral Point and S. Gammon roads.

He then stripped down to his underwear and ran from the scene with his dog. He was taken into custody nearby and officers noticed signs of intoxication.

The 28-year-old driver was taken to the hospital for a warrant blood draw. He was medically cleared and taken to the Dane County Jail for first-degree OWI and resisting arrest and issued several traffic citations.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

The dog was also located and is safe.
