The Madison Police Department is now investigating this death as a homicide. Detectives with the Violent Crime Unit are leading the investigation.
On Wednesday, officers were dispatched to an apartment along the 5800 block of Raymond Rd. after a property manager located a tenant deceased inside a unit.
As the scene was processed, it was learned that the 46-year-old victim had suffered a gunshot wound. The case is now being investigated as a homicide.
No arrests have been made as of 10 a.m. on Thursday. At this time, detectives believe this was a targeted incident.
