Man arrested while wielding firearm during argument

A man was arrested for holding a firearm during an argument on a crowded State Street during a busy Halloween night.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers noticed several people arguing in the doorway of an apartment.

As they approached, they could see a man holding an AR-15 style rifle. The man dropped the weapon when ordered by officers.  He was taken into custody without further incident.

The 21-year-old, who legally owned the firearm, was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed.

This remains an ongoing and active investigation.
