Starting in December 2021, you can place clean and empty paper cups into your recycling cart.

how do you recycle paper cups?

Make sure the cups are empty of any liquid or ice, and the cup should be dry.

Throw straws and plastic lids into the trash.

If this is a paper coffee cup, take off the cardboard sleeve and place that into your recycling cart separate from the cup.

 

how clean do the cups really need to be?

Make your best effort.

They must be dry.  They must be empty.

A couple spots of coffee stain would be okay.
