On the west side of Madison, you may have noticed some crews spraying the weeds of concrete medians.
The spray is a combination of water, vinegar, dish soap, and salt. Our hope is that this kills the weeds in this hard to trim areas.
String trimming these concrete medians are tough because there are so many small rocks and other grit. The trimmers hit these rocks and other small stones, and sling them around. We do not want to cause any damage to passing cars along these busy intersections from this flying debris - so this spray is worth a shot.
This is just a pilot to see how it goes this year, and hopefully it proves out to be an effective and safe way to keep weeds in these hard to trim areas maintained.
