Halloween 2020
Halloween needs to look different this year to reduce risk of spreading COVID-19.
While there are no official Trick-or-Treating hours, it can still happen with modifications. See the fact sheet below for how to reduce your risk this Halloween.
Trick-or-Treating
The City of Madison does not have official Trick-or-Treating hours.
Recommended hours: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 31, 2019
Additional Trick-or-Treating Safety
- Make sure your costume is visible to vehicles and others.
- Do not use toy weapons as part of any costume.
- Only trick or treat with people you live with.
- Only approach homes that have candy outside or allow you to avoid ringing the doorbell.
- Stay on sidewalks, and obey traffic signs.
- Carry a flashlight.
- Don’t eat any candy until an adult can check it for you.
- Make sure costumes do not impede movement or vision.
- Remember to wear a cloth face covering. A Halloween mask alone does not provide enough protection.
- Make sure your costume is visible to vehicles and others.
