Field Updates: How to Know
The best and ONLY way to know if your field is open for play is to call the Rainout Line (608)267-8787. Weekdays the line will be updated by 2:00pm, weekends and holidays the line will be updated by 9:00am. The line will be updated if fields are questionable, if no update by times listed, fields are open for play.
Many, but not all, of the Madison Parks Division facilities are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, at no charge. The Madison Parks Division suggests you first contact Madison Parks about what fields and facilities are available.
Step 1Contact Madison Parks to discuss your reservation, and perhaps find a facility that is open on a first-come, first-serve basis and is available at no charge.
If you need to or choose to reserve a facility or field, the reservation fee for most fields and facilities is $115 for the first date and $45 for each successive date. This is per day and can be for any length of time and any number of games. A "Recreational Field Application" will need to be completed for each reservation. However, if you are planning to organize a tournament, you will be charged a Special Event fee and must fill out the appropriate application.
Step 3After discussing the reservation with the athletic scheduler, to make the final reservation, the Parks Division needs a written or email request with the following information: YOUR NAME, MAILING ADDRESS, DAYTIME PHONE, FIELD/FACILITY LOCATION, DATES and HOURS. You may email your request.
It is important to note that priority access is given to inter-scholastic and youth club sports reservations. Therefore, there are very few available dates in the spring and fall. Reservation requests are taken in the order received.
Some facilities must be reserved to be used. The first four facilities listed are premiere locations and do have higher maintenance fees, with a separate charge for lighting if needed. All other locations are $115/day and $45 for each successive date.
