Mission Statement of Professional Standards and Internal Affairs:
The mission of the office of Professional Standards and Internal Affairs is to uphold and maintain public confidence in the Madison Police Department by ensuring proper, timely, objective, thorough, and ethical fact-finding investigations into complaints against department employees, policies, and procedures. The PS&IA office will review, document, track, and maintain accurate records of these investigations, which are submitted to the Chief of Police for final review and disposition.
