Announcements and News Releases
- Leaf Collection Suspended for 2025; Curbside Collection Resumes Spring 2026: The snowstorm of November 29, 2025, was significant. It has created multiple days’ worth of clean-up work that will require staff to be diverted from leaf pickup duties. On top of that, future forecasts show a likelihood of more snow in the days ahead. The same city employees that pickup leaves are the same employees that drive the snowplows, and responding to snowstorms is a higher priority. Adding to all the snow is the frigid temperatures we will see. The cold will freeze the snow and leaf piles, making collecting them with our equipment practically impossible.
- Help Shape Greater Madison’s Music Identity: The Hero’s Journey process is rooted in community participation. Through the survey, community members are encouraged to reflect and respond to what makes the Madison-area music scene unique. [posted November 25, 2025]
- City of Madison Secures $17 Million in Federal Funding to Modernize Metro Fleet : This significant investment allows Metro Transit to retire some of the oldest vehicles in its fleet. [posted November 24, 2025]
