Boards, Commissions, and Committee Meetings

Note: This is not a complete list of meetings for this upcoming week. All meetings and their details can be found at the Meeting Schedule page.

  • Common Council – Discussion: The Common Council discussion will take place on Monday, August 24, at 5:00 p.m. in virtual format. The topic of the discussion is the City's approach to recent protests and the subsequent re-opening of Williamson & Baldwin St.
  • Transportation Commission: The Transportation Commission meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 26, at 5:00 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include Metro Transit's December service changes.

Public Information Meetings (PIMs)

  • Door Creek Watershed Study No. 3, Tuesday, August 25: The City of Madison is completing a watershed study in the Door Creek watershed (as shown below). The City of Madison contracted with an engineering consulting firm to complete the study. The watershed study will identify causes of existing flooding and then look at potential solutions to try to reduce flooding. A public information meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m., Aug. 25, 2026, via Zoom. Registration prior is required. 
  • Old Middleton Road Underpass of WSOR Railroad, Wednesday, August 26: The City is proposing a shared use path project to extend the existing University Crossing Bike Path towards Old Middleton Road and Craig Ave. The project includes an underpass of the WSOR Railroad. There is a virtual public information meeting scheduled for 6 p.m., Aug. 26, 2026, via Zoom. Registration prior is required. 
  • Dickson Pl, Irwin Pl, Dodge St, Carver St, Martin St Reconstruction, Thursday, August 27: The City of Madison is planning to reconstruct streets and utilities within the Lake Forest neighborhood over three phases of construction. A public information meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m., Aug. 27, 2026, via Zoom. Registration prior is required.

Join us in person in Room 215 of the Madison Municipal Building for the D2 Downtown Plan Traffic Safety Meeting. This is your opportunity to get involved and share your thoughts on how to make downtown streets safer for everyone. Whether you're a local commuter, a cyclist, or just interested in traffic updates, your voice matters! 
  • Live at The Glen | Harmonious Wail, Friday, August 28: The members of Harmonious Wail are purveyors of Americana-infused Gypsy Jazz, who continue to take their listeners on a ride via the music of the Hot Club sounds of Parisian cafes, to the deepest blues of the Memphis Delta, to the heartfelt folk scenes across every-town-America.
  • Book Cover, Transportation and the Shape of Cities

    District 11 Book Club: Author Talk with Christof Spieler “Transportation and the Shape of Cities" Wednesday, Sept 23rd at 7pm at the Sequoya Library: Drawing from his new book, Christof Spieler will discuss how transportation shapes cities, with a focus on Madison's evolving transportation network. The book examines the five major nodes of U.S. transportation, from walking and bicycling to automobiles, trains, and transit, and explores how they influence urban design and community development. The District 11 Book Club is a free community discussion group, hosted by Madison District 11 Alder Bill Tishler, that explores the intersection of urban planning, city growth, transportation, environmental stewardship, and public policy. All are welcome to attend, and prior reading of the book is not required.

 

Parks Alive Dates!

Parks Alive builds stronger neighborhoods and connects neighbors to their parks through fun, family-friendly activities, music and free food. Events are held in parks across the city and throughout the summer. Connect with your neighbors and engage with your community at a Parks Alive event near you! Events start at 5:00 p.m.
