Metro Purchasing FedEx Facility for Bus Barn

Hello neighbors,

I want to give you a quick update on the Oscar Mayer Bus Barn project. Many of you have expressed concerns about contamination and environmental justice with the proposed project. I have been actively advocating community concerns regarding remediation of TCE gas and other dangerous chemicals on the Oscar Mayer site, to protect our bus union workers.

The City just found another location (The old FedEx Facility on Hanson Road, East Side) which will be cost effective and the location does not have environmental contamination.

The city is signing the Letter of Intent agreement with FedEx and it will come to the Council tonight for introduction.
