Elvehjem Waterpipe Repair

The water pipe re-lining project in the Elvehjem neighborhood is nearing completion slightly ahead of schedule. 

Most watermains in the project should be fully back in service. The hot patches where the work occurred will be replaced with black top soon. Once everyone has had their meter reconnected and the bypass has been removed, Fer-Pal will come through the project area to clean up the streets and make sure any remaining millings and construction debris are picked up. The project is estimated to be completed by the end of the month depending on weather.

• Brush Collection Nearing the End: Check to see if you have a brush set out date remaining before you set out branches and sticks for pickup. 
• Hispanic Heritage Month 2026: In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15-October 15, Madison Public Library will host a series of events highlighting the achievements and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans and celebrating Hispanic and Latino American culture. Throughout the rest of the year, upcoming events in Spanish or about Latinx culture and resources in Spanish will also appear on their “Hispanic Heritage Month 2026" website.
