Highlights for the Week of July 18, 2022

posted

The Common Council will meet in hybrid format at 6:30pm on Tuesday, July 19th.

Note: the proposed ordinance that would prohibit the Madison Police Department and law enforcement responding under mutual aid from using tear gas, mace, impact projectile devices or other chemical agent for the purposes of crowd control is recommended to be referred to a future meeting of the Public Safety Review Board and the Common Council, so the Council will not be discussing it at this meeting, and won’t be back to the Common Council until September at the earliest.

Virtual Neighborhood Meeting for 5602 and 5606 Schroeder Road

Alder Matt Phair and I invite you to join us for a virtual neighborhood meeting on Thursday (July 21, 2022), at 6:30pm, where we will hear about JD McCormick Properties' development proposal for 5602 and 5606 Schroeder Road (the corner of Schroeder Road and the Beltline). The existing structures would be demolished, and a new, four-story, 81-unit multi-family building would be constructed. The proposal calls for a combination of underground and surface parking.  You can join the virtual meeting using your computer, smartphone, or tablet, or you can listen in via telephone. You will receive login information after registering at www.cityofmadison.com/MeetingJuly21Schroeder.
