Construction updates, Announcements, and Events

Hello neighbors,

It’s Spring….ish. With the change in the weather also comes the start of construction season. Here is a brief overview of what’s happening in our District:

  • University Avenue: work on reconstruction of the street and the addition of the BRT stations is anticipated to be completed by mid-May.
  • N Franklin Ave: There is underground utility installation occurring on Franklin, which is not closing the street, but has caused buses to detour to Ridge Street. This street will be reconstructed in 2025.
    • Stevens Street: Construction is expected to start on this portion of the project in June.
  • Harvey Street and Schmitt Place: Construction on this project is beginning. It is expected to last through May or early June. Harvey St and Schmitt Pl will remain closed to thru-traffic, with local access for residents maintained during construction.
  • S Owen Drive: MG&E is currently replacing private gas mains ahead of the construction project. Construction is expected to begin in late May or early June, and should be completed by October.
  • While Shorewood Blvd and Marshall Court is not in our District, it may affect your local movements. This project is replacing the sewer mains.
