Hello neighbors,

This week was a momentous one: the groundbreaking for the first new library in Madison in 25 years! I was thrilled to be able to help with the ceremonial shovel dig, alongside many of my Alder colleagues and Mayor Rhodes-Conway. A special shout out to Alder Sabrina Madison, who has been an incredible champion for this project since its inception. And many thanks to all of the donors who have contributed to help make this project possible.

Water main flushing will occur this week Between University Ave. and Regent St. east of Ash St, then south of Regent St.

For folks contending with construction on North Franklin Ave, please set out your yard waste tonight or tomorrow morning, but only in bags. The streets trucks can’t get down the road in its current condition, so they need to be able to collect the bags. You may use compostable paper lawn bags, or plastic bags. Paper bags are preferred as they are easier to collect. Whichever bag you decide to use, please keep them open at the top. Alternatively, you are welcome to take your yard waste to a drop-off site.

Brush collection will occur on the regularly scheduled dates. Crews will be through to collect brush as needed, in consultation with the construction crews.
