Interior Property Complaints

You can file a complaint if your landlord is not meeting property standards. Please contact the owner or management before contacting Building Inspection. Only current tenants can report interior property issues. The current tenant must give us access to the unit. Parents, if your child has a housing issue, please have them submit a complaint.

For urgent issues, please call our office at 608-266-4551, ext. 4. Otherwise, you can use our online system to report issues.

File a complaint

When you file a complaint, we need your name, contact information, address (including unit number), and access to the part of the building where the violations are.

Once you file a complaint, staff will call in the next couple of business days to schedule an inspection. At an inspection, staff will look at the grounds, building exterior, interior common areas, and the tenant’s unit.
