General Complaints

Anyone can file a complaint if a property owner is not meeting the City’s property standards.

File a property complaint

We enforce issues including:

  • Chickens: Homes can’t have roosters or more than 8 chickens.
  • Trash carts: Stored improperly or left on the terrace.
  • Trees: Dead trees and branches, overgrown trees, or other issues.
  • Vehicles: Abandoned or inoperable vehicles, or cars parked on the lawn. For street parking violations, report a parking issue.
  • Visibility: Tall grass, bushes, fences, or other vision clearance issues.
  • Exterior of Buildings: Porches, decks, roofs, windows, doors, siding, and garages.

Other Property Issues

  • Erosion

    Water flowing over sidewalks, mud in street, etc. We can only enforce erosion issues on single-family homes and duplexes.

  • Graffiti

    Unauthorized paint or marks on private property.

  • Junk, trash, and debris

    Trash on private property.

  • Sidewalks

    Report overgrown plants, snow or ice, damage, or other sidewalk concerns.

  • Signs

    Signs in the terrace (right of way) or flashing signs.

  • Tall grass and weeds

    Grass and weeds can’t be taller than 8 inches. We also respond to complaints of 12 types of noxious weeds.
