Issis Macias and Rodrigo Carapia collaborate to honor their shared Mexican heritage. The two artists have distinctive styles. Macias creates the bold, colorful, abstractions in the background. Carapia adds his drawings on top to compliment the background. The tile of this work, alma, means soul in Spanish. The painting depicts a hummingbird in flight. In Mexican culture this represents the souls of loved ones that have passed.
