The parklands known as Western Hills Park are jointly owned in partnership with the City of Fitchburg. The portion owned and managed by the City of Madison is located in the northwest corner (at S. Whitney Way and Meadowood Dr.) and includes the two-bay swings in just under a half-acre. The remaining portions, including the paved path, basketball courts and playground, are owned and managed by the City of Fitchburg (2499 S. Whitney Way).
