Project Information

Madison Parks, in conjunction with City Engineering and Dane County, will be replacing the existing beach shelter and installing a clean beach treatment system at Warner Park!

The proposed beach shelter will be the Madison Parks prototype shelter which has been recently constructed at Lake Edge Park, Esther Beach Park, Penn Park and ws recently completed at Olbrich Park. The replacement of this beach shelter was approved as part of the City of Madison's adopted Capital Budget, and as part of the City’s ongoing efforts to improve Warner Park.

The shelter has been completed and is open for use. The clean beach treatment system is estimated to be completed in 2022.

Public Input Meeting
Tuesday, July 9, 2019 6:00 pm
Warner Park Community Recreation Center

City of Madison staff held a public meeting to gather input on the beach shelter as well as, general improvements to the Warner Park beach area. At this meeting staff discussed ideas with the public about shelter building options, in relationship to a proposed clean beach treatment system and other future potential site improvements. Meeting participants reviewed shelter designs, options for design elements to be added to park, and worked in small groups to discuss the project.  Meeting participants also used iClickers to help inform decision-making. This meeting was attended by between 30 - 40 people, members of Wild Warner, community members & neighbors, and Alders Kemble and Abbas.
