About Alder Julia Matthews (she/her)

Julia L. Matthews is a lifelong Madison resident, UW-Madison graduate, labor union member and works in clinical research at UW-Madison. She wants to serve as Alder to work towards lessening disparities across Madison and increasing access to housing and transportation to help contribute to a future Madison that is great for everyone. She's dedicated and eager to serve the people who live in her district. Julia is also passionate about the community engagement aspect of working as an Alderperson. She believes that all voices have value and will be proactive about reaching people who have not always had the privilege, ability, or bandwidth to participate in city politics.
