- Landmarks Commission: The Landmarks Commission meeting will take place on Monday, August 18, at 5:00 p.m. in virtual format. Agenda items include requests or reviews in Districts 2, 6, and 12.

Announcements and News Releases
- Appointing the Next Madison Chief of Police. The Board of Police and Fire Commissioners of the City of Madison (PFC) interviewed the three finalists for the position of Police Chief on August 14, 2025. A recording of a question and answer session with each finalist is available for viewing. Public input may be submitted to the PFC in writing at pfc@cityofmadison.com. In addition, the PFC will hold a public comment period during its Special Meeting on August 25, 2025 at 5:30 pm. Members of the public may register to speak at this meeting.
- Goodman Pool: The Goodman Pool is open daily, weather permitting, through Sunday, August 24.
- Safer Streets Are Built Through Local Community Input. Share Your Opinion in the Midvale Boulevard Questionnaire by September 2, 2025 This is your opportunity to weigh in on what you would like to see happen on Midvale Boulevard. Your input will help shape the final design and ensure it reflects the needs and values of the community.

- Wisconsin Election Commission Orders for the City of Madison Clerk’s Office: The City of Madison is committed to administering transparent and accurate elections. We appreciate the Wisconsin Election Commission considering our input and amending its orders to reflect that feedback. - East Doty Street One-Day Paving Monday, August 18: Starting at 7:00am on Monday, August 18, Wolf Paving will begin repairing failing asphalt on E. - Monday Mornings at The Glen, Monday, August 18, 2025 (This event occurs on multiple dates): Enjoy The Glen for a stroll, nature, workout or leashed dog walk from sunrise to 8:00 am. Tee times resume at hole #1 at 8:00am. Visitors should be alert for golf balls and golfers while exiting the course.
- District 11 Book Club: "Shrink the City: The 15-Minute Urban Experiment and the Cities of the Future" August 20th at 7:15 PM, Sequoya Library. Everyone is welcome to join this free, informal conversation—even if you haven’t finished the book—and limited copies will be available at the Sequoya library’s Ask Desk.

- Bird & Nature Adventures | Edna Taylor, Saturday, August 23: Transitioning to Autumn ~ Join Master Naturalist Sean Gere to explore easy nature trails on this free family friendly walk. Enjoy learning about the seasonal changes when wildflowers, trees and animals are enjoying the bounty of summer and start preparing for autumn and colder months.
Parks Alive Dates!
Parks Alive builds stronger neighborhoods and connects neighbors to their parks through fun, family-friendly activities, music and free food.
