I was a police officer for the city of West Allis Police Department before coming to the Madison Police Department in 2014. Since being with the Madison Police Department, I have been assigned to the North District for almost all of the 8 years I have been with this department. I am also on our Crisis Negotiation Team. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, going for a run, and baking. I am looking forward to connecting with people in the community. Hello, my name is Ruben Garcia. I am the Neighborhood Resource Officer for the North District. I have worked with MPD since 2017, and been the North District Neighborhood Resource Officer since 2020. I wanted to become a police officer because I had two uncles who were in law enforcement. I saw the positive impact they were making in the community, and wanted to follow in their footsteps. I like to spend my free time in the outdoors.
