Monroe Street Pedestrian Safety Initiative Tuesday April 2

April 1, 2013 9:01 AM

On Tuesday April 2nd, officers from the MPD's Traffic Enforcement Safety Team and the South District will be teaming up to conduct a pedestrian safety (crosswalk) initiative in the Monroe Street area.  In April 2012, three pedestrians were struck and injured by vehicles in the Monroe Street coordidor.  As the spring weather begins to set in, and more residents are walking about, MPD reminds all motorists of the need to stop for pedestrians who have entered a marked crosswalk and are attempting to cross the street.
