Municipal Services Bill payments will be down for maintenance from 9pm on Wednesday, July 8 to 8am on Monday, July 13. During this time, we cannot accept payments, except in person by cash or check. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Field Trips & Tours

3rd graders tour Madison water well

Madison Water Utility offers in-person facility tours to various City departments, schools (elementary through graduate school), and other interested community groups. We tailor tours, discussions, and activities for your learning objectives and audiences of all types. 

Please email water@madisonwater.org to request a facility tour. 

Some of the topics we usually cover on facility tours are:

  • The water cycle
  • Sustainability and conservation 
  • Source water protection
  • Water infrastructure: wells, water towers, mains and hydrants
  • Geology, including the Mt. Simon Aquifer and Eau Claire Shale
  • Water chemistry and testing

Water Utility experts are also available to speak at virtual meetings, social media events, and webinars.
