South District Blotter

Teenager propositioned near Ashford Lane

February 5, 2014 10:47 AM

Residents in the Arbor Hills and Leopold neighborhoods are asked to be on the look out for an "older, darker four door vehicle" being operated by a "larger black male in his 20's or early 30's."   This past Monday, a mother of a 17 year old daughter called 911 and described to a South District officer how her 17 year old daughter had been approached TWICE in the past six weeks by this same individual operating the same vehicle.  The first time about six weeks ago the 17 year old was walking on Ashford Lane by herself in the afternoon when the male was driving past, stopped and asked her if she or any of her friends would be interested in having sex for money.  The 17 year old said, "No" and simply walked away.

This past Saturday, February 1st, the 17 year old was on Ashord Lane, this time with a girl friend, around dusk, when the same individual in the same car stopped them and asked the same question (sex for money).   The 17 year old asked the suspect if he lived somewhere in the neighborhood and he replied "No."   Both teens proceeded to walk away at that point, however, the suspect honked his horn at them while they were walking away.

If anyone sees this individual driving in and around the Todd Drive or Ashord Lane area, please get a license plate number and call 911.   The Madison Police Department, at a minimum, would certainly like to have a discussion with this gentleman.
