Update, Meeting & Event Highlights August 28th, 2023

posted

Hi everyone!  I hope you're enjoying this break from the heat. I, personally, can't wait for Fall!
The Voit Property is in a holding pattern for the moment, but hopefully it'll be hitting the Plan Commission in the next few weeks. Like I mentioned before, the developers have worked in good faith with the community to incorporate some suggestions. Since this is just for the zoning, I'm sure that feedback will be appreciated as we move forward with the project.

I would love it if you'd all consider doing something for someone around you over the next few weeks. We all know how the day to day can get us down. When someone does something as simple as leaving a kind note on your door, or offer to help with yard work, or pick up something from the store for a neighbor who is unable to get out easily, it really makes a difference. All I can do is work within the systems to try to get things done, but you can make a difference in any moment by looking after those around you.

Thank you all for the amazing support you've been sending my way and for everyone who I've met over the last few weeks of events. I'm so grateful to be your alder.

All the best for an amazing week ahead.

Ald. Dina Nina

  • Public Input - Yahara Hills Golf Course Redesign: Improvements are coming to Yahara Hills Golf Course and we want to hear from you about the 18-hole redesign. For background, earlier in 2023, the City of Madison closed on the sale of roughly 200 acres of Yahara Hills Golf Course to Dane County. As 36 holes remain open through the 2024 season and reductions in 2025 to 27 holes and in 2026 to 18 holes, we are resigning 18 holes that will operate through at least 2042. Our vision is to optimize the golfing experience for 18 holes while utilizing existing infrastructure and preserving the natural landscape. In addition, one of our key objectives is to make golf more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
