Downtown Poll Workers Needed
postedThe City of Madison is in need of poll workers (election officials) for the April 7 Spring Election. The City needs more poll workers to staff polling places downtown and throughout the city to ensure that we have enough election officials to support the election. Please consider helping ensure every voter is able to vote on Election Day.
Here is some additional information about the job:
- You'll be paid for your work. The City pays an hourly living wage of $17/hour.
- Choose from multiple shifts. There are multiple shifts for poll workers. The morning shift is 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Afternoon/evening shifts are 1:00 p.m. until close (approximately 9:00 p.m.). You may also work the full day 6:00 a.m. to close.
- All poll workers are required to complete training before working on Election Day. This training is paid and offered as a webinar.
Poll workers must be a qualified elector of Dane County (i.e., an adult citizen of the United States who has resided in Dane County for 28 consecutive days and is not otherwise disqualified to vote). State law also permits certain qualified high school students to work at the polls as an election official on Election Day.
