Alder Vidaver’s Updates
Neighborhood Indicators Project, Water report, CARES initiative, Movies with Madison Parks
Hello neighbors,
A few updates of interest this week:
1) Ever wonder about how Madison, and our neighborhood, has been changing over time? A new set of data has been added to Madison's Neighborhood Indicators Project (NIP)--a tracking system with trend data going back to 2008. NIP was designed by the City of Madison in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Applied Population Lab.
2) Madison Water Utility released its annual water quality report. Information on PFAS contamination in our wells, among other contaminants, can be found in the report. Of note, there is still funding available to offset costs of high-efficiency, water saving toilets.
3) My colleague, Alder Martin, has been the driving force behind implementing Madison's Community Alternative Response Emergency Services (C.A.R.E.S.) initiative, which is designed to improve the City's response to people experiencing non-violent mental health crises. If you didn't have the opportunity to view the public information session, the session was recorded.
4) Movies with Madison Parks, birding outings, and conservation park tours are among the free community events available in our parks - check out the City Parks Calendar to find an event!
Be well,
Regina
