Park Details
This nearly 10-acre park, formerly known as Central Park, was officially renamed in April 2018 at a dedication ceremony honoring longtime East High School principal, Milton McPike. Mr. McPike served the Madison community as a leader, an educator and an inspiration to all who met him. Through the campaign efforts of the Madison Parks Foundation, and unanimous approval of the Madison Parks Board of Park Commissioners, the City honors his legacy with the naming of McPike Park.
The park features a restroom building (open seasonally) and Madison's first skatepark, which opened in September 2015. The park is host to numerous festivals and events including a weekly farmers' market spring through fall. For more information on reserving this park, visit Special Events.
Central Park Master Plan was completed and approved in 2011.
