This class provides supervisors with the tools they need to ensure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, as well as information about the importance of position descriptions and the position study process. This course is intended for supervisors and managers. Following completion, attendees should be able to craft position descriptions for their staff and answer questions about how the position study process works.

A half-day interactive workshop for supervisors/managers on how to manage employee performance, starting before the employee is hired. This training will focus on the importance of position descriptions, providing constant coaching and feedback to employees, and what to do when an employee fails to meet expectations after all other avenues are exhausted. Supervisors and Managers will be walked through the Performance Management Flowchart and have the opportunity to put what is being learned into action!

The Supervisor Development Program is a course meant for new supervisors and managers. The objectives include;
- Provide City of Madison supervisors with the skills, knowledge, and abilities needed to lead effective and inclusive teams.
- Share the most important management practices and resources for successful leadership and supervision.
- Build a strong cohort of supervisors across the city for networking, problem solving, and collaboration.
