Alder Updates:

I hope everyone had a good 4th of July weekend! I want to highlight some past and upcoming events.

Housing Forward

Last week, myself and a few alders, along with city staff, hosted a virtual forum to answer questions about Housing Forward changes. If you're interested you can watch the recording. These proposals will be discussed at Plan Commission on July 7th before coming back to Common Council on July 15th.

Development Meeting for 305 N Frances St & 533 Conklin Pl

On Tuesday, July 8th at 6PM I'll be hosting an informational meeting for the Core Spaces redevelopment of the Saxony Apartments at 305 N Frances St & 533 Conklin Pl. The existing building would be demolished, and a new, 16-story student housing project would be constructed. The new building would have approximately 2,800 square feet of ground floor retail, 394 apartment units ranging from one-bedroom to five-bedroom (total 1,374 beds), and 68 parking spaces. Approximately 200 of the beds would be offered at a 40% discount from the market rate.

You can join the virtual meeting using your computer, smartphone, or tablet, or you can participate via telephone. You will receive login information after registering at www.cityofmadison.com/MeetingJuly8Frances

Art Fair on the Square

In addition to some of the usual events, this week is also the week for Art Fair on the Square! This is one of my favorite downtown events, so I hope you get out there and look at some fun art.
