Northeast Area Plan Public Input Events

Sycamore Park, August 16th at 5:00pm; Reindahl Park, August 14th at 5:00pm
I’ve posted before about the City’s ongoing effort to gather public input that will inform the Northeast Area Plan, including input from residents of the Burke Heights and Mayfair Park neighborhoods in District 3! Here’s the City Planning webpage on the overall Northeast Area Planning process and goals for more information. City Planning staff will host a public engagement event here in the District at Sycamore Park on August 16th, 5:00pm (along with another event that week, Reindahl Park on Monday the 14th at 5:00pm). The goal of this event is to engage area residents about their neighborhoods and the ways the City can plan future infrastructure and services to meet their needs. Check out the flier for event details and a map of the area that will be covered by the NE Area Plan. I hope to see you on the 16th at Sycamore!
Door Creek Watershed Study Public Information Meeting

The City of Madison is completing a watershed study in the Door Creek watershed (as shown on the map). The watershed study will identify causes of existing flooding, in this case unique to Door Creek, and then look at potential solutions to try to reduce flooding. The study will use computer models to assist with the evaluations.
For more information please see the Flash Flooding Story Map. And here's the City's webpage for the project. If you live in the watershed area or are interested, please consider joining the virtual meeting: Wednesday, August 16th at 6:30pm via Zoom. Registration is required at this link: Aug. 16, 2023 Public Information Meeting Registration. I hope to see you online that evening!
