North Area Plan

North Area Planning area within City.

The City is undertaking a series of Area Plans to develop a long-term vision to guide changes in the physical aspects of our community, such as development initiated by the private sector and infrastructure improvements typically carried out by the public sector. The North Area is a community shaped by a diverse mix of residents, businesses, and destinations like Warner Park and the Northside Town Center. 

North Area Kickoff Meetings

Join us for a kickoff meeting! Choose the meeting option that works best for you. There will be two virtual sessions and one in-person open house so you can learn more, ask questions, and share your thoughts. 

  • Virtual Meeting #1 - Monday, November 9, 12:00 - 1:00pm
  • In-Person Open House - Monday, November 16, 6:30 - 8:00pm 
    • Warner Park Community Recreation Center, 1625 Northport Drive.
    • Stop by, explore the information at your own pace, and hear a short presentation at 6:45pm. 
  • Virtual Meeting #2 - Tuesday, November 17, 6:00 - 7:00pm 

All three meetings will include the same brief presentation and opportunity to ask questions. The virtual meeting will be recorded. Meeting materials will be available after the meetings.

  3. Initial Draft Recommendations

    Draft initial draft recommendations based on community input.

  4. Plan Review and Approval

    Complete draft plan and submit final draft plan for review and adoption.

The North Area is generally bounded by the Yahara River and Cherokee Marsh to the north, Dane County Regional Airport to the east, Aberg Avenue and Maple Bluff to the south, and Lake Mendota to the west.
