Sidewalk Clearing Update

The snowstorm has ended. The snow that began during the evening of Sunday December 28, 2025 and continued into the morning of Monday, December 29, 2025, should be cleared from public sidewalks by 12:00 PM (noon) on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

With the recent rains followed by cold temperatures, some ice could have formed on walkways beneath the snow.  This creates a very slippery condition. 

If there’s any ice left on the sidewalk that you can’t remove, spread sand or another safe material to provide traction.  

Free sand for residents is available at several locations around Madison to keep sidewalks safe.
