City Hosting Data Center Informational Meeting June 3rd

Early this year, the Madison Common Council adopted a moratorium for up to one year on approving new data centers in Madison to give staff time to research data center operations, conduct outreach, and develop new zoning standards for data centers. I wrote in more detail about the moratorium proposal in this January blog post.

The City will host a virtual public information meeting on Wednesday, June 3rd from 5:30-7pm. Interested parties can register here to attend.

This meeting will allow City staff to share information about data center operations, the city's regulatory tools and which aspects of data center operations the City has authority to influence, and the City's timeline for proposing draft zoning standards. Staff will then seek community input and questions.
