Email Scam (Phishing Attempt)

The FBI has warned that scammers are pretending to be city officials to request payments for planning and zoning permits. We're aware of phishing attempts following this scam in Madison.

Alterations

You need a permit for alterations to one and two family homes. If you plan to change a space without adding square footage, your project is an alteration. The requirements depend on the scope of your project.

If you own and occupy your home, you can apply for all permits. If not, licensed professionals must apply for the permits. All construction must follow state codes. We bill fees based on the cost of the work.
