Officers from the East Police District spent some time visiting with and reading to students at Kennedy Elementary School on Friday morning in celebration of "Read Your Heart Out Day"!
Read Your Heart Out Day is in celebration of National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID) with the goal of building positive family, community and school relationships. The purpose is to support family engagement and cultural relevance. This event has been happening for 13 years in MMSD. All books read were children's literature written by or about African American people and culture.
