Safety Prevention Tip - Shoveling Scam

The Madison Police Department and Madison Area Crime Stoppers need your help in identifying suspects in a rash of burglaries that occurred Wednesday, December 7th between 1pm and 5pm.

In these cases the suspects report looking for work shoveling driveways. This technique is used to see if anyone is home before entry is made.

One suspect is described as a white male, 20-30 years old, 5'11"- 6'01", small scraggly red chin strap beard, last seen wearing a red jacket, bright blue snow pants, and carrying a green Woodman's bag.

The other suspect is described as a white male, 20's, 5'08"- 5'10", wearing a black coat with a red hooded sweatshirt underneath and black pants.  He walked with an uneven gate.
