Community Alert for Counterfeit $100 Bills

October 11, 2013 8:37 AM

The Madison Police Department and Crime Stoppers need your help in identifying suspects in the passing of counterfeit bills.

On Friday, October 4th at 7pm, two counterfeit bills were passed on Madison's west side.

The suspects washed a $5.00 bill and copied the information from a $100 bill onto the $5.00 bill. Look for the watermark on the $100 bill; you can still see the watermark of the $5.00 bill.

One suspect is described as a black male with long dreadlocks, wearing a black "NIKE" shirt, black fishing hat, blue jeans, and glasses. The other is described as a black female wearing a black "Spider-Man" t-shirt and having a pink wallet.

If you have any information about this case or can identify these suspects, please contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers on the web at TipSubmit.com or call 266-6014. Individuals contacting Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
