Crime Prevention Blotter

Prevention Tip of the Week

October 30, 2015 2:19 PM

The Madison Police Department's Crime Prevention Safety Tip of the week.

Don't leave your purse, wallet, or phone unattended.

Keep your hand on your purse, wallet, or phone when setting it on a counter or in a shopping cart.

This will help prevent theft and also remind you to put it away after making your purchase.

If your property is stolen submit a police report right away.  The suspect will attempt to use your information as soon as possible.  Make sure you keep contact phone numbers for your bank and credit cards separate from your purse, wallet, or on your phone.

If you have questions about crime prevention contact, Madison Police Department Crime Prevention Coordinator Rodney Wilson at rwilson@cityofmadison.com or call 266-4238.
