Week Without Driving
Event Description
Happening October 1–8, 2026!
Week Without Driving is a nationwide challenge that invites everyone, especially elected officials and people who make transportation decisions, to experience one week, one day, or even one trip without driving a personal vehicle.
The goal is to better understand what it's like for non-drivers to get around and take part in everyday life. Non-drivers include youth, older adults, people with disabilities, people who can't afford to drive, and people who choose not to drive.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, an estimated 30–40% of people in Dane County are non-drivers.
Throughout the week, join the Greater Madison MPO and community partners for events and activities across Dane County.
