Commuting & Travel

Getting where you need to go—whether it’s a quick grocery run or your daily commute to work or school—doesn’t have to mean hopping in the car. That’s why we run RoundTrip Greater Madison, a free public program that helps Dane County residents and employers explore convenient, affordable alternatives to driving alone.

Get to Know RoundTrip

RoundTrip is a free program that makes it easier for people in Dane County to choose alternatives to driving alone—like biking, walking or rolling, taking the bus, carpooling, or vanpooling. By encouraging more sustainable travel, RoundTrip helps reduce traffic, save money, and cut down on greenhouse gas emissions.

RoundTrip Connect

RoundTrip Connect is Dane County’s go-to platform for planning trips and finding smarter ways to get around. You can compare commute options, track your bike, bus, walk/roll, carpool, and vanpool trips, find a carpool match, and take part in regional challenges.

Whether you’re biking, busing, carpooling, walking or rolling—or combining modes—RoundTrip Connect makes it easy to find what works best for you.
