The Greater Madison MPO’s Core Products serve as the foundation of our work, guiding transportation planning and decision-making across the region. As a federally designated MPO, we develop key plans and programs that shape the future of transportation in Greater Madison.
Our Core Products
- Regional Transportation Plan (RTP): Establishes the long-term vision for the region’s transportation system, identifying goals, strategies, and major projects to enhance mobility, accessibility, and sustainability.
- Transportation Improvement Program (TIP): A short- to mid-term plan that programs federal funding for transportation projects, ensuring investments align with regional priorities and needs.
- Title VI Program/Language Assistance Plan: Upholds equity and accessibility in transportation planning by ensuring compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other federal requirements.
- Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP): Outlines the MPO’s annual planning activities, budget, and priorities to support data-driven decision-making and transportation improvements.
- Performance Measures: Tracks progress toward regional transportation goals by assessing safety, congestion, reliability, and other key indicators.
- Public Participation Plan (PPP): Ensures meaningful public engagement in the transportation planning process by outlining strategies for outreach, input, and collaboration with the community.
