Project Information
Project Overview
Construction begins in June for the Kennedy Road Rapid Route B terminal. This project addresses Metro Transit's current challenges on Route B, such as the need to swap out electric buses so they can return to the depot to charge, and it reduces the need for passengers to wait the current terminal during driver breaks. Route B will be adjusted to go westbound on Northport and eastbound on Troy, opposite of today's operation. Adding on-route charging is a key priority to keep buses running smoothly. The Kennedy Road terminal will continue to be used when Route B is upgraded to a bus rapid transit route. The project will be on the north side of Northport Drive, just west of Kennedy Road.
The project includes:
- A new pullout for buses
- A new bus stop and shelter
- A fast, high-capacity on-route bus charger
- A small support building
