As a part of the City of Madison’s commitment to Performance Excellence, we are engaged in use of continuous improvement processes in multiple areas of government. The key to any continuous improvement process is its focus on ongoing, iterative development of products, services, or processes. These efforts seek “incremental” improvement over time, using a basic Plan-Do-Check-Act (or Deming) Cycle to manage and track improvements.

Supervisor Development Program

Continuous Improvement Processes serve as a capstone project for all Supervisor Development Program participants, as of 2018. To date, over 70 Continuous Improvement processes have been completed in almost every agency throughout the City of Madison.

Continuous Improvement Lightning Talks
