Quarter 3 2026 Update
OPN Architects and sub-consultants have been working with Engineering staff and Madison Fire Department staff to work through the design of the interior spaces of the fire station. The plans were shared with Fire Station 6 crews to get their feedback. OPN Architects will continue to coordinate fire station needs with the larger development design team so things like windows, doors, and site amenities are located properly and integrated for a cohesive design. The fire station design is currently in the design development phase.

Project Overview
Fire Station 6 will be relocated to a new space constructed as part of the CDA redevelopment of the site at South Park Street and West Badger Road in South Madison. The Fire Station project will build out the interior space of the new building to create a fire station for a double company with individual sleeping rooms, fitness room, training room, living/dining/kitchen, apparatus bay, and related spaces.

Quarter 2 2026 Update
OPN Architects was selected to lead the design team for the Fire Station 6 Tenant Build Out project. OPN Architects coordinates fire station space needs with Potter Lawson, the architecture firm designing the overall CDA development at Park and Badger. The design of the CDA development “core and shell" is slightly ahead of the design on the fire station interior project.
