Public Works Contract #7564
Energy Goal: Net Zero
The Library Maintenance and Support Center is providing $42,000 from the project budget to establish a Neighborhood Workforce Goal. This money will be supplied directly to the contractor or subcontractors, for the purpose of hiring two Apprentices or Pre-Apprentices from District 14 to work on the project. The Neighborhood Workforce Goal is intended to support the City’s Construction Employment Initiative, which helps prepare low-income and targeted groups for employment in the construction industry, and also to support the Library’s mission of promoting education and community involvement. The City will coordinate the hiring process with the General Contractor and the Construction Workforce Diversity Alliance.
