3/27/2023 Update:
Phase 1 Area of Notification: W. Beltline Hwy to Odana Road
The Phase 1 encroachment management letter was mailed on January 11, 2023. Encroachments within the Phase 1 area need to be removed or have in place the proper encroachment approval by May 31, 2023.
Phase 2 Area of Notification: Odana Road to Glenway Street
The Phase 2 encroachment management letter will be mailed on April 1, 2023. Encroachments within the Phase 2 area need to be removed or have in place the proper encroachment approval by July 1, 2023.
Additional phases of notification will occur later in 2023 and 2024.

Project Overview
The City of Madison recently renewed an agreement with Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) for the use and maintenance of the Southwest Path Corridor. The agreement includes required management of encroachments within the WISDOT corridor. The Madison General Ordinances (MGO) were also updated to incorporate the terms of the new agreement.
