6/1/2023 Update:
The W Main St Bike Boulevard Improvements project has been awarded to Speedway, Sand and Gravel. Work is scheduled to begin the week of June 19, 2023. Due to supply chain delays for certain traffic-related items, the project will not be fully complete until Fall 2023. Proudfit St will remain open to thru-traffic throughout the duration of the project. Sidewalk on at least one-side of both streets will remain open at all times to maintain pedestrian traffic.
Project Overview
The City is planning to install a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) at the Proudfit St and W Main St intersection. Along with median island and pavement marking improvements, this will improve the bicycle-pedestrian crossing of Proudfit St at W Main St.
